Films curated and debate moderated by Andrei Fășie
Random Space, Bucharest
26 to 29 August 2026
Brâncuși Nocturn is an open-air film festival on Brâncuși and sculpture, organised by the Docuart Association. Its fifth edition marked 150 years since Brâncuși’s birth. For the Bucharest edition, I curated the film selection and moderated the debate Curator vs. artist with Roxana Donaldson.
About Brâncuși Nocturn 2026
The fifth edition opened in Bucharest on 30 June at CINETic, with UNATC I.L. Caragiale, and continued in Târgu Jiu from 6 to 9 August, in the Endless Column Park. It closed in Bucharest from 26 to 29 August 2026 at Random Space, on Popa Petre Street.
The Bucharest programme included the films Brâncuși. Ansamblul sculptural de la Târgu Jiu, On the Wings of Brancusi, Some Like It Fake, King Rodin, Jimmy & the Demons and Isamu Noguchi. One evening was cancelled because of the weather, and two films moved to other nights.
On 29 August at 18:00, the debate Curator vs. artist asked where the freedom of the artist ends and where the responsibility of the curator begins. The guest was Roxana Donaldson, visual artist and researcher. The evening continued with the performance lecture Să vorbim despre Brâncuși.
